1999 NASP CONVENTION INVITATION

The NASP annual convention and exposition represents the single largest Continuing Professional Development (CPD) experience for school psychologists and trainers. This year the National Association of School Psychologists will bring you one of the premier events in the history of school psychology on April 6-10,1999, at Bally's Hotel and Resort, Last Vegas, NV.

NASP President, Alex Thomas, has set a challenging theme which emphasizes the need for developing A Blueprint for the Future. This them will focus activities on the varied domains embedded in the NASP publication, School Psychology: A Blueprint for Training and Practice II. Each of us is encouraged to develop our own professional development blueprint; a plan that focuses our continuing education experiences and allows us to better serve the children, families, and educators with whom come in contact. The increasing complexity of concerns with which our profession works and the diversity of contexts which these concerns are expressed, requires us to concentrate on the present and be ever mindful of the future. "A Blueprint for the Future" must also be grounded in the past and this occasion will also be a time to celebrate the 30th anniversary of NASP and the 10th anniversary of the NCSP.

Over 35 special workshops, 50 exhibits, 20 special sessions, and 500 presentations will provide the latest information on: prevention, predicting and addressing violent behavior; technological innovations for school psychologists; IDEA and much more. Put these important dates on your calendar and plan to attend the annual convention of NASP in Las Vegas, NV. Join your colleagues for this special opportunity for learning and networking as well as professional and personal rejuvenation. Come and enjoy one of America's premier convention, entertainment, and recreation spots of the world.
